Most smart TVs from the last few years can run MoaTV with nothing plugged in. Which steps apply depends on the system running your TV, so find your brand below first.
| Brand | System | Route |
|---|---|---|
| Samsung | Tizen | Player from Samsung Apps |
| LG | webOS | Player from LG Content Store |
| Sony, TCL, Hisense, Philips | Android TV / Google TV | Downloader app |
| Insignia, Toshiba Fire TV | Fire OS | Same as the Firestick guide |
| Roku TV models | Roku OS | Not supported; add a Fire TV Stick |
Samsung
- Press Home on the remote and open Apps.
- Search for the player we recommend in your WhatsApp chat and install it.
- Open it. If it shows a device code or MAC address, send that to us.
- Sign in, or wait for us to activate the TV, then restart the app.
LG
- Press Home and open the LG Content Store.
- Find the player and install it.
- Open it and sign in, or send us the device code if it shows one.
Android TV and Google TV
- Install Downloader from the Play Store on the TV.
- Allow it to install from unknown sources (Settings, Device Preferences, Security & Restrictions).
- Open Downloader and enter the Downloader code we send you on WhatsApp with your login.
- Open the player and choose the Xtream Codes sign-in. Fill in the username, password and server address from your WhatsApp message, exactly as written; capitals count.
When a stick is the better answer
Older smart TVs often have slow chips and little storage. If the guide crawls or the app keeps closing, a Fire TV Stick in the HDMI port is a cheap fix and usually feels quicker than the TV's own system.
